SHRINK

Compress images

Shrink JPG, PNG and WebP file sizes in your browser with honest before/after numbers. Free and private.

Drop files here or click to browse — JPG / JPEG / PNG / WEBP accepted, batches welcome

Drop JPG, PNG or WebP files above; download smaller versions. Every file reports exact before/after bytes — the trade is visible, never estimated.

The quality slider: 80% (default) is where savings are large — photos typically drop 50–80% — and artifacts stay invisible at normal sizes. Lower (60–70%) for chat and email; higher (90%+) for print or further editing. Fine text in screenshots fuzzes soonest — raise the slider if it does.

Formats behave differently:

The "already compact" rule: some files are as small as their format allows — re-encoding would grow them. Those come back untouched, labelled accordingly. Nothing leaves this page larger than it arrived.

Dimensions never change here. If the problem is pixels ("maximum 2000px") rather than bytes, the image resizer is the right tool.

Batches drop at once — per-file numbers, individual downloads or one ZIP, no caps. Compression runs inside this page on your device: no upload, verifiable in the network tab or offline.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my images get?

Photos at the default 80%: typically 50–80% smaller. PNGs much less — they're lossless, so there's no quality to trade. Real numbers show as each file finishes.

Why did a file come back "already compact"?

Re-encoding it would have made it bigger, so the original was kept. Common with images already compressed well at source.

Are my images uploaded during compression?

No — the work happens in your browser, on your device. No uploads, no size limits, works offline.
